There are several common conditions that affect the cornea: Injuries and Allergies

The inflammation sometimes occurs after viruses, bacteria, or fungi get into the cornea. They can get in after an injury and cause infection, inflammation, and ulcers. If your contact lenses cause an eye injury, that, too, can lead to keratitis
Prevention

SQUINT
Commonly known as “Strabismus”, where the eyes are not aligned in the same direction, this can be present only part of the time, in one or alternating between two eyes. The squinting may turn in (converge), turn out (diverge) or sometimes turn up or down.
Symptoms
1. Eyes that look at different directions at the same time
2. Eyes that don’t move together

2. An eye patch is often used to correct a squint eye
3. Common eye exercises include Pencil Pushups and Barrel Card
When to see a doctor
Diagnosis is by means of standard eye tests, including covering and uncovering the eye to watch the shift in the pupillary direction, light reflex tests and retinal testing, as well as visual acuity.
